In 2022, an ad hoc committee of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine reviewed community-level wastewater-based disease surveillance and its potential value toward prevention and control of infectious diseases in the United States. With support from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, this research committee, commissioned by NACCHO, is now ready to present its Phase 1 Report, due to be released next week.
