Sepsis is the body’s life-threatening response to infection that affects 1.7 million people and takes 270,000 lives annually in the United States. In 2011, Sepsis Alliance designated September as Sepsis Awareness Month. Sepsis Alliance created a Sepsis AwarenessToolkit to help organizations educate healthcare providers and community members about the signs and symptoms of sepsis.
NACCHO and Sepsis Alliance hosted a webinar on August 19, 2019 to share how local health departments can raise sepsis awareness in their communities using this toolkit. The recording for this webinar is now available, along with the toolkit.
