The opioid crisis in the United States has led to increased hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection among younger populations of people who inject drugs (PWID) and other vulnerable populations, who often seek care at community health centers. Early treatment for HCV can lead to decreased transmission rates and increased cure rates with advances in oral medications.
This fall, join the National Nurse-Led Care Consortium for a webinar series on the intersection of HCV and opioid use disorder. Webinars in the series include:
- Part 1: The Intersection of Opioids and Hepatitis in the US and Resources (Tuesday, October 15 at 2:00 PM ET)
- Part 2: Combined Infectious Disease and Opioid Use Disorder Treatment with Special Populations (Tuesday, October 29 at 2:00 PM ET)
- Part 3: Implementing an Enhanced HCV Screening Model in Iowa (Tuesday, November 12 at 2:00 PM ET)
- Part 4: Expanding Medication-Assisted Therapy in Philadelphia, PA (Tuesday, December 3 at 2:00 PM ET)
This series is pending for up to four prescribed credit hours by the American Academy of Family Physicians. For more information or to register, visit here.
