The current COVID-19 pandemic has affected communities across the United States and raised questions about how local health departments (LHDs) can ensure safe water, sanitation and hygienic conditions to protect human health. The National Association of County & City Health Officials (NACCHO), in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), invited LHDs on June 24 at 12:00 PM ET, to learn more about:
• COVID-19 transmission through drinking water and wastewater
• COVID-19 surveillance and sewage systems
• Reopening buildings and preventing Legionnaires’ disease outbreaks
• Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and hand hygiene during the COVID-19 pandemic
• Preparing for hurricane season
Participants had an opportunity to share concerns and ask questions during a dedicated Q&A session.
