The COVID-19 pandemic exposed considerable disparities in states’ and territories’ abilities to ensure an equitable response to the most significant public health emergency in more than a century.
On September 14 from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm EST, in conjunction with September’s National Preparedness Month, the Centers for Disease Control, the National Governors Association, and the American Bar Association are co-hosting a new webinar for public health preparedness and response professionals: What’s New: Equity and Policy Preparedness During Public Health Emergencies.
A distinguished panel of speakers will discuss their experiences working to address equity, policy, and legal issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic:
- Dr. Jeffrey Hall, Chief Health Equity Officer, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
- Dr. Dawn Hunter, Director of the Network for Public Health Law, American Bar Association
- Dr. Jinlene Chan, Deputy Secretary of Health, State of Maryland
- Dr. Marcus Plescia, Chief Medical Officer, Association of State and Territorial Health Officials
