In 2022, the Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services (LB HHS) was selected to participate in NACCHO’s CDC-funded Equipping Local Health Departments to Address Vaccine Hesitancy project.
Although the emergent time of the COVID-19 pandemic has passed, the work in BIPOC communities continues due to the low vaccination rates and continued health disparities. It will take time to clear the lens to have equity for all.
In partnership with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the University of Minnesota’s National Resource Center for Refugees, Immigrants and Migrants (NRC-RIM), NACCHO aims to strengthen COVID-19 prevention and mitigation strategies among refugee, immigrant, and migrant (RIM) communities.
