In alignment with this strategy, NACCHO partners with CDC to support local health departments (LHDs) in conducting activities within each of the Overdose Prevention Strategies' priorities.
This year's theme for World Hand Hygiene Day on May 5 is focused on recognizing that we can add to a facility's climate or culture of safety and quality through cleaning our hands but also that a strong quality and safety culture will encourage people to clean hands at the right times and with the right products.
NACCHO will award up to $60,000 for a consultant, or consulting firm, to assist NACCHO with conducting a workforce assessment to evaluate LHD staff capacity related to healthcare-associated infections (HAI) and antimicrobial resistance (AR). The selected consultant will create assessment tools, conduct data collection and analysis, and develop a final report with results.
NACCHO will award up to $100,000 for a consultant, or consulting firm, to assist NACCHO with the development, implementation, and analysis of an assessment to identify the essential (i.e. “soft”) skills training needs of LHD staff engaged in infection prevention and control (IPC) activities.
