This new NACCHO report summarizes data collected in Summer 2021 from a nationally representative group of LHDs, and covers a number of domains critical to the ongoing response to the overdose epidemic including, but not limited to, funding, staffing, partnerships, and services offered.
This funding opportunity provides an opportunity to embed peer recovery specialists in emergency departments to improve linkages to care for people who use drugs (PWUD). Local Health Departments (LHDs), hospitals, and other community partners will design, implement, maintain, and evaluate a set of protocols to screen patients in the ED for substance use.
With support from the CDC, NACCHO is offering a funding opportunity to provide technical assistance to help LHDs and their communities understand and strengthen their capacity to address the intersection of intersection of suicide, overdose, and ACEs.
