On March 11, the Fiscal Year 2025 budget proposal was released, outlining the Administration’s funding priorities for the upcoming fiscal year.
The National Association of County and City Health Officials is pleased to share a brief video entitled "Community Partnerships to Prevent Suicide, Overdose, and Adverse Childhood Experiences."
NACCHO has awarded nearly $350,000 in funding to seven Overdose Response Strategy (ORS) pilot projects to help address the overdose crisis in their communities.
Local health departments and their community partners have been the driving force behind the IOPSLL program as their teams work diligently to prevent overdoses and advance the health and safety of people who use drugs in their community every day. NACCHO is proud to share the ways in which these local health departments have utilized their IOPSLL funding to prevent and respond to overdose.
Last week, the House released their report for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 Labor-Health and Human Services bill. The bill would appropriate $147.1 billion in total discretionary funding for the Department of Labor, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Education, and other related agencies.
The Legal Action Center (LAC), with the support of the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), has crafted the Equity Considerations for Local Health Departments on Opioid Settlement Funds Checklist.
In partnership with the CDC, NACCHO is announcing the Advancing Equitable Harm Reduction Outreach (AEHRO) program, a six-month funding opportunity to organizations sustaining or expanding harm reduction services to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color who use drugs.
