Last week, House appropriators made significant progress on the Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies (Labor-HHS) Appropriations Bill.
On Thursday, June 10, the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) chaired by Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), held a hearing entitled, “Fiscal Year 2022 Budget Request for the Food and Drug Administration.”
“NACCHO applauds today’s decision by the FDA to take action to prohibit menthol flavor in cigarettes and all flavors in cigars as a significant step forward to improve public health and save lives.
NACCHO and ASTHO have selected 42 community multi-sector partnerships/coalitions across the country to receive over $2 million as a part of the Improving Social Determinants of Health – Getting Further Faster evaluation program.
From the devastating deaths and illnesses as represented by the 2019 national outbreak of the lung injury called E-cigarette Vaping Associated Lung Illness (EVALI), the use of these devices has become a public health emergency amongst youth and adolescents.
