San Juan Basin Public Health's conclusions demonstrate the importance of holistic climate planning that takes seriously the impacts of climate change to the entire public health system.
Franklin County Public Health developed a set of local environmental public health indicators to track trends in the health effects of climate-related conditions. These indicators will allow them to better incorporate climate-related conditions in their public health planning efforts.
In 2022, Huron County Public Health, Ohio, was selected to participate in NACCHO’s CDC-funded Equipping Local Health Departments to Address Vaccine Hesitancy project.
On June 20, NACCHO Board member Krista Wasowski, the Health Officer for Medina County, OH, served as a featured panelist for a Congressional virtual briefing, entitled, “Shortchanged: The Impact of Chronic Underinvestment in Public Health.”
On June 13, the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health held a legislative hearing entitled, “Legislative Solutions to Bolster Preparedness and Response for All Hazards and Public Health Security Threats,” to review multiple legislative proposals including the reauthorization of the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act (PAHPA).
