As part of the National Association of County and City Health Officials’ (NACCHO’s) work to support and serve 3,000 local health departments (LHDs) in the United States, NACCHO will be releasing a bi-weekly blog consisting of an up-to-date collection of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) resources for our members working at the intersection of environmental health and COVID-19.
NACCHO and CFP are seeking 10-15 state, local, tribal, and territorial health department professionals, retail food industry professionals, and retail food association staff to become part of a Food Safety Advisory Group (FSAG).
NACCHO, in collaboration with the CDC, has launched the Food Service Guidelines Action Institute, where multi-disciplinary teams worked together to increase healthier food options for their local community, while also supporting the local food system.
NACCHO strives to support and work with LHDs to improve food safety and prevent foodborne illness. One way this is accomplished is through NACCHO’s Food Safety Toolkit, a repository of information, data, and projects from across the country on food safety.
NACCHO invites all retail food regulatory programs to submit applications to participate in a mentorship program with their peers to learn, share experiences, and acquire tools and resources related to the Voluntary National Retail Food Regulatory Program Standards (Retail Program Standards).
