As we wrap up National Public Health Week (April 3-9, 2023), I want to take a moment to say thank you and reflect on the important work done by the thousands of individuals who serve in local health departments. Thank you for all you do for your communities, but also for the nation as a whole. In my remarks below, I explain the importance of local public health.

NACCHO is looking for a consultant to develop and support implementation of a strategic plan to optimize existing and anticipated marketing and communications activities for their efforts with Project Firstline.
Local Health Departments in the District of Columbia, Illinois, Iowa, Massachusetts, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Washington Awarded Up to $150,000 in Funding
The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), representing the country’s nearly 3,000 local health departments, has awarded almost $360,000 in funding to six sites as part of the Harm Reduction and Academic Detailing project. Each site will receive up to $60,000.
Awards will build the operational readiness capabilities of MRC units to meet the emergency preparedness and response needs of local, regional, and statewide stakeholders.
NACCHO is seeking a consultant to design and implement a qualitative assessment of LHD use of infection data (including for COVID and influenza-like illness) and health equity information to respond to outbreaks.
