    Naloxone Saves Lives in Cuyahoga County

    The death toll from accidental drug overdose may have been much higher this year if not for a life-saving drug called naloxone. According to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office, drug overdose is the leading cause of accidental death in Cuyahoga County. Since 2007, the County has seen a dramatic rise in opioid mortality. In 2013 alone, Cuyahoga County lost 340 residents to opioids.

The schools were filled with neighbors’ children and residents did not think twice about leaving the doors to their homes unlocked. That is, until their teenage son became an opiate addict.
