Calling All Local Health Digital Staff: We Need Your Help

January 17, 2019 | By: Angie McPherson

Are you a local health department digital professional? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

Over the course of the past year, the digital team at NACCHO has made a few visits to local health departments around the country to see how we can improve our digital products to work for you.

A few months ago, we met with staff from a medium-sized county. They wished they could connect local health department IT professionals to share code and best practices.

The problem: Their IT department was running their website and more on a shoe-string budget.

Their suggestion: “If we are all struggling to keep our websites up and running, why not reach out to each other to share tools that helped and replicate best practices to ensure we aren’t reinventing the wheel?”

This year we are taking action on that suggestion. We want to connect local health department digital staff and create a toolkit to share best practices and code, but we don’t know who is responsible for managing websites and web tools. We need your help to find LHD digital staff to better connect the industry and determine what information we need to share.

If you are an LHD digital professional, or if you know the right contact person at your health department, please use the form below to submit the information. Alternatively, you can reach out to me directly at amcpherson@naccho.org. If you prefer social media, you can find me on Twitter or use #NACCHOdigital to discuss improvements to our various products.

Your work is important to us. Help us take the next step by connecting our digital media professionals.

Use the form below to fill in the contact details for your digital staff members. We will reach out with an invitation to connect with us. If you have any questions about this project, please email amcpherson@naccho.org.
