NACCHO, with generous support from CDC, is excited to launch the New Local Health Official Training Program, which builds on our historically successful Survive and Thrive, a training program designed for LHOs who have been in their positions for two years or fewer.
What’s in a name? Words create worlds and we want to ensure that the name of this program captures its essence and resonates with local public health leaders. We heard from the New LHO Advisory Committee that it is time to shift the focus of the name to move past surviving and emphasize thriving.
The full training program is a 12-month learning experience that builds leadership capabilities through active engagement, exploration, coaching, peer networking, goal setting, and practice. For more details on the program structure, goals, and curriculum, please click this link.
