NACCHO is seeking a qualified consultant to instruct the newly updated Management Essentials Fundamentals of Financial Management course, which is a virtual instructor led training (VILT) comprising six (6) one-hour sessions that provides solid foundations in financial management, fiscal compliance, budgeting and forecasting, and how to identify and improve the financial situation or performance of local health departments (LHDs). Through this course, LHD current and aspiring leaders and managers should learn key financial management skills, including how to manage budgets and how to leverage and interpret financial data and statements, and receive tools to monitor and control spending. Consultants should have experience working within or with LHDs, or other governmental public health agencies, and have knowledge of the regulations and restrictions that these entities face regarding receiving and spending funding, including federal regulations and auditing, and how this impacts budgeting and other key components of the agency’s financial management. The RFP may be found here. Applications are due on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 11:59pm ET.
