Developed by the Robert Wood Johnson, the "Action Strategies Toolkit" provides a list of action steps to increase physical activity and increase healthy eating in communities. It details strategies to increase biking, walking, maximize open spaces, reduce crime, increase nutritious options in schools, and work with local restaurants to improve healthy options. While the toolkit does not specifically mention health in all policies (HiAP), it does provide a list of partners to work with on each strategy such as planning departments or police authorities. Further, it provides actionable steps that these different partners can take to improve the health impact of some of their policy decisions. As a local jurisdiction who is interested in implementing HiAP, this toolkit can be useful to educate other sectors on some of the steps they could take to improve health outcomes around obesity.
