Produced in 2006 and 2007, The ADA Best Practices Tool Kit for State and Local Governments was designed to assist state and local officials to improve compliance with Title II of the ADA in their programs, services, activities, and facilities. State and local officials can use the technical assistance (TA) document how to identify and fix problems that prevent people with disabilities from gaining equal access to state and local government programs, services, and facilities. Additionally, the document contains surveys that state and local officials can use to assess the accessibility of their physical spaces and work to remove barriers to access. Chapters also include: general effective communication requirements under Title II of the ADA, 9-1-1 and Emergency Communications Services, Website Accessibility, Curb Ramps and Pedestrian Crossings, Emergency Management Checklists, etc.
