The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (MWCOG) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) developed a tabletop exercise (TTX) designed to prepare local jurisdictions for a high-impact water emergency response. The TTX was conducted on July 01, 2019 with a group of 72 representatives from local health departments, emergency management, water utility companies and other community stakeholders from the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. Participants gathered from Maryland, the District of Columbia and Virginia to contribute their expertise.
