This AbilityPath.org resource was featured in a May 2014 webinar authored by two representatives of the Missoula City-County Public Health Department. This resource includes background on the prevalence of the problem and risk factors related to childhood obesity among children with special needs. The resource also identifies multi-level solutions to the problem and provides a simple parent toolkit with numerous facts sheets for handling obesity- and health-related issues. These fact sheets include information and strategies for creating healthy relationships, eating in restaurants, introducing new foods to children, healthy snacking, introducing exercise, and adaptive and inclusive fitness activities that meet the needs of the particular child.Accessibility: This PDF is not fully screen reader accessible.
