This health and wellness initiative was developed by the University of Kentucky and aims to create a future in which Kentuckians with disabilities have the tools they need to learn about and advocate for their own health, and achieve a more active, empowered future. This website provides information on how to make healthier decisions along with highlights from current statewide health initiatives. Helpful resources include videos, lesson descriptions, healthy games and activity instructions, links, and tips on how to run effective health promotion programming for people with a variety of backgrounds, interests, and needs. The health and wellness initiative at the Human Development Institute has been working hard to raise awareness of health disparities and develop resources to help people with disabilities and their family and friends stay healthy and to take charge in their own lifestyle choices. Accessibility: This website is mostly accessible using a screen reader, but some images and logos do not have text descriptions and some links are not adequately described.
