Healthy People provides science-based, 10-year national objectives for improving the health of all Americans. For three decades, Healthy People has established benchmarks and monitored progress over time in order to encourage collaborations across communities and sectors, empower individuals towards making informed health decisions, and measure the impact of prevention activities. The Healthy People 2020 chapter "Disability and Health" identifies areas for public health action and provides an overview, goals, objectives, interventions and resources, and data for national efforts to improve the health of people with disabilities. Many of the concepts, objectives, interventions, and resources are relevant to local health departments. Accessibility: This website is generally accessible using a screen reader, however images may not have alternate text descriptions and controls for expanding objectives are unclear.
