King County Ordinance 16948 is an example of one kind of ordinance that a local jurisdiction can pass to advance Health in All Policies by building off of a county's strategic plan. King County adopted the "King County Strategic Plan 2010 - 2014" and included a fair and just principle that "[serves] all residents of King County by promoting fairness and opportunity and eliminating inequities." County leaders passed this ordinance in order to define and systematize the implementation of the fair and just principle. This ordinance can serve as a guide and provide sample language to other local jurisdictions interested in building off of their own strategic plans to advance health in all policies.
