Purpose: The purpose of the Academic-Community Partnerships in Preparedness Toolkit is to increase collaboration in emergency preparedness by building partnerships between academic institutions, public health agencies, and emergency management agencies. Tool Description: This toolkit is composed of a compilation of tools focused on building relationships between public health, emergency management agencies, and academic institutions. The toolkit includes the online tools found in the links above, as well the following tools available upon request: 1. Preparedness Assessment Survey of Academic Institutions 2. Models of Successful Academic-Community Partnerships 3. Practice Guideline: Building Academic-Community Partnerships 4. Policy Guideline: Building Academic-Community Partnerships Each tool focuses on a different aspect of relationship building, as such, each tool is intended to compliment the others. Who should use it?: Each of the tools is intended to be used by public health and emergency management agencies, in conjunction with the academic institutions. Benefits: The main benefit of this tool is the establishment of sustainable relationships among academic institutions, public health agencies and emergency management.
