King County's "Equity Impact Review Tool" is a tool and process that local jurisdictions can use to "identify, evaluate, and communicate the potential impact of - both positive and negative - of a policy or program on equity". While it does not provide specific information about health in all policies (HiAP), the tool offers three stages to systematically gather information to inform planning and decision-making about public policies and programs which impact equity. The stages are: 1) What is the impact of the proposal on determinants of equity 2) Assessment: Who is affected? 3)Impact review: Opportunities for action. Like health impact assessment, this tool can be applied to examine the impact of policies on the health and vitality of a community.
