This report was developed by the Conference Board and Cornell University to raise awareness about people with disabilities among top diversity and human resources leaders. This tool is intended to serve as a resource for those interested in employing people with disabilities. This tool is a guide to successful strategies and initiatives that employers can consider when establishing short- and long-term priorities based on the goals and needs of their organizations. This report describes the business case for employing people with disabilities, organizational readiness and culture change, measurement of success, and encouragement of self-disclosure of disability status. Case reports and examples of successful strategies are provided.
