This toolkit was developed as part of NACCHO's HIA Mentorship Project. It provides a very basic primer on Health Impact Assessment, and introduces the reader to a variety of useful resources on the practice of HIA. The toolkit goes over the definition of an HIA, background on its practice in the United States, factors responsible for health, core principles and vision, HIA's purposes, steps of an HIA, and additional resources. Embedded throughout the toolkit are links to resources.
