This product is a Health Promoter training module focused on pandemic influenza and is a supplement to Emergency Preparedness in Latino Community: Training Manual for Promoters and Simple Answers to Basic Questions on Emergency Preparedness. It is available in both English and Spanish. The target audiences for this product are local health departments or other community agencies using a Health Promoter or Lay Health Educator model. The training module outlines how to conduct a five-hour training session for experienced health promoters and includes a review of the basic concepts of emergency preparedness, pandemic flu, and risk communications. The training module was evaluated and field tested through the Montgomery County Latino Health Promoter Program, and the results ares available on the Montgomery County APC's Web site (www.montgomerycountymd.gov/apc).
