The Applied Research Center: Advancing Racial Justice Through Research, Advocacy, and Journalism developed the toolkit "Racial Equity Impact Assessments: An Overview." While it does not provide specific information about health in all policies, it does outline specific strategies on how local communities can anticipate, assess, and prevent potential adverse consequences of proposed actions on different racial groups through policy. The information contained in this toolkit can be useful when working with non-traditional sectors to highlight some of the policy actions they can take to actively reduce, eliminate, and prevent racial discrimination and inequities prior to enacting new proposals. The Racial Equity Impact Assessment can be applied in a similar fashion as health impact assessments for examining the impact of policies on the health and vitality of a community.
