This course explains how the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) applies to businesses in ten short lessons. These lessons are designed to increase compliance with the ADA and reach out to a whole new group of customers, people with disabilities. Although designed for businesses, this tool may be a helpful training resource for local health departments. Lessons cover policies and procedures, communication, accessible design, removing barriers, alternate access, maintaining accessibility, transporting customers, cost issues, ADA enforcement, and information sources. Accessibility: This website is generally accessible using a screen reader, but navigation may be confusing. All images have alternate text descriptions.
