Through comprehensive training, technical assistance, and product dissemination, the National Service Inclusion Project (NSIP) strives to ensure meaningful service experiences for all Americans, regardless of their abilities. Local health departments may find resources provided helpful for engaging people with disabilities, including a webinar library, the Disability Inclusion Manual, Emergency Toolkit, Disability Awareness Toolkit, success stories, and service learning resources. Local health departments may find Creating an Inclusive Environment: A Handbook for the Inclusion of People with Disabilities in National and Community Service Programs, Weekly Inclusion Tips, and Indicators of Inclusive Service and Volunteer Organizations--which provides indicators and self-assessment tools as well as examples of how disability inclusion can be seamlessly and intentionally woven throughout nonprofit organizations--particularly helpful. Accessibility: This website is generally accessible using a screen reader. PDFs are generally accessible using a screen reader or Read Out Loud but some may be confusing to navigate.
