When local health coalitions, health departments, and community organizations conduct studies on major health problems their community members, the recommendations section of the study's summary report can be a place to promote health in all policies (HiAP) to local decision makers utilizing local data to demonstrate that there is an evidence based need to move toward HiAP. Shape Up SF Policy's "Analysis: Recommendations to Create Environments that Promote Physical Activity" is an example of a local jurisdiction's policy recommendations based on local data. It outlines what the city can do to impact physical activity levels in the community and how to make physical activity a priority in the development of policies across departments. The policy recommendations were based on an analysis of interviews from key staff from the City and County of San Francisco government departments and are categorized as HiAP, Physical Education, Active Transportation, Open Space, and Recreation.
