The Operational Definition is the framework for LHD standards in the voluntary national accreditation program. The LHD Self-Assessment Tool for Accreditation Preparation is an agency self-assessment for LHDs to use in measuring themselves against the standards in the Operational Definition. 
A number of states have programs that address performance improvement, certification, or accreditation for LHDs. Click on the states to view information.
