We realized from the beginning that we did not want people to wait in lines and we wanted to cut down the time it would take for people to fill in their forms. |
| Actions taken to address the issue(s): |
Because we have a little over 32,000 people in the county, we were able to have people call in on a special line to make an appointment. The appointment was saved on an Excel spreadsheet created for the event. After the final appointment slot was filled, labels were printed with all the pertinent information. When people arrived, the correct label was affixed to one of two forms; green for children and buff for adults. At check-in, people verified the accuracy of the label and proceeded to the next station. |
| Outcomes that resulted from actions taken: |
By the time we had conducted several clinics, we had worked out any bugs in the system, e.g. we wanted more information, we wanted big labels for first time children and small labels for the second shot, and we wanted them in alphabetical order for easy access. As a result, we never had a line and people complimented us on our efficiency. |
