FLEXED Webinar | Data Analysis Tools in Practice: How Local Health Departments Use Data Analysis Platforms

Aug 27, 2026 | Candice Young

Choosing the right data analysis platform can shape how local health departments plan programs, evaluate outcomes, develop workforce capacity, engage communities, and communicate findings.

Join NACCHO’s Flexible Local Epidemiology for X-Factor Emerging Diseases (FLEXED) Learning Community on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 2:00-3:00 PM ET, for Data Analysis Tools in Practice: How Local Health Departments Use Data Analysis Platforms. This webinar will feature local health department professionals sharing practical experiences with ArcGIS, Power BI, and R, including how their agencies gained access to the tools, developed internal skills, and selected platforms based on project goals and organizational needs.

Participants will gain insights into:

  • Real-world applications of ArcGIS, Power BI, and R in local public health

  • Factors to consider when selecting a data analysis platform

  • Strengths and limitations of each featured platform

  • Approaches to building organizational capacity and staff skills

  • Lessons learned from implementing tools in everyday work

A moderated panel discussion will give attendees an opportunity to learn from peers and explore considerations for selecting and using data analysis software in their own jurisdictions.

Featured speakers: Kayla Stradford, Marion County Public Health Department (IN), and Blanca Perez, Washington County Health and Human Services (OR).
