Host a FEMA Training Course on Health Sector Emergency Preparedness

Sep 28, 2017

The FEMA Center for Domestic Preparedness, in collaboration with the HHS ASPR Division of National Healthcare Preparedness Programs, designed a one-day, eight-hour health sector emergency preparedness course to provide training to healthcare providers and suppliers in the achievement of the four core elements outlined in the September 2016 Emergency Preparedness Requirements for Medicare and Medicaid Participating Providers and Suppliers Final Rule.

The FEMA Center for Domestic Preparedness proposes to provide this training in coordination with Health Care Coalitions (HCCs) that are interested in the hosting of the one-day course. Host responsibilities would include providing a classroom or auditorium capable of seating the expected audience, supporting recruitment of an appropriate audience from the 17 identified providers and suppliers, and providing a point of contact to coordinate the course with the FEMA Center for Domestic Preparedness.

The FEMA Center for Domestic Preparedness will directly coordinate the class with the designated host point of contact, provide experienced instructors to conduct the class, and provide copies of all relevant course materials for each student. If interested in hosting, please contact Mr. Clay Calkins, FEMA Center for Domestic Preparedness non-resident training coordinator, at (256) 231-0128 or [email protected]. Read the course syllabus for more information.
