The MRC workgroup convened via conference call on August 28. Over the past month, the workgroup has been diligently working to finalize its workplan for the upcoming term. The workgroup’s goals for this term are to:
- Serve as subject matter experts for NACCHO MRC projects and initiatives.
- Identify and increase access to resources and tools that may benefit MRC units and unit coordinators.
- Develop tools and resources to increase the uptake and/or understanding of NACCHO and DCVMRC products and initiatives
- Publicize and encourage MRC network colleagues to submit innovative practices to NACCHO for Model Practice review and stories to NACCHO’s Stories from the Field website.
Leveraging the relationships and expertise each of the workgroup members bring, associated deliverables for each of the workplan goals will largely focus around the MRC Core Competencies, the DCVMRC Factors for Success, and MRC Connect. A robust discussions about the types of projects led to some very innovative project ideas. Final details are still being worked out and will be complete soon after Labor Day.
The 2015 Preparedness Summit was also a topic of conversation. The MRC Workgroup will be collaborating with NACCHO’s Incident Management workgroup on an abstract for the upcoming Summit. Plans are also in place to hold an in-person meeting for the MRC Workgroup at the 2015 Preparedness Summit- a highlight for many workgroup members, as this is one of the only the workgroup convenes in person.
