The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) workgroup convened via conference call on October 22. There was a very robust discussion around the MRC Connect application. All workgroup members have subscribed to MRC Connect and have provided invaluable feedback to project leads Stacy Stanford and Alyson Jordan. The latest MRC Connect discussion involved the idea of providing badges as incentives for use and task completion as well as overall usability. Overall, the workgroup was not convinced that use of MRC Connect would increase among users with the addition of badges for tasks completed.
The workgroup also discussed and reflected on the recent passing of fellow MRC Workgroup and MRC Colleague Robert (Bob) Cohen. Before Bob’s unexpected passing, the workgroup discussed starting a mentorship program for new and struggling MRC unit leaders. In his honor, the workgroup is continuing to pursue this idea and model the goals and objectives of this mentorship program as a legacy to Bob’s leadership and service to the MRC network. The workgroup will continue to exchange ideas and information on the development and organization of this mentorship question via email until the next workgroup meeting in December.
