NACCHO Recruiting Members for Virtual Learning Collaborative for the Inclusion of MCH Populations in Preparedness and Response

Oct 12, 2022 | Elana Filipos

NACCHO, with support from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Division of Reproductive Health, is recruiting members for a Virtual Learning Collaborative (VLC) to develop and train maternal-child health (MCH) and emergency preparedness and response (EPR) professionals at local health departments (LHDs) on integrating MCH considerations into emergency planning. This VLC aims to increase the capacity of LHDs to prioritize MCH populations in preparedness and response plans through training modules and interactive hands-on exercises.

Membership: The VLC will comprise staff from MCH and EPR departments. We are requesting one MCH and one EPR staff from each LHD to participate in the collaborative together to ensure successful collaboration and equitable training efforts. Please complete one application per LHD. Thus, each application should have information for the MCH staff member and the EPR staff member. We encourage applications from LHDs that focus on health equity and serve historically underrepresented populations.

Time Commitment: Participation in this learning collaborative will include:

We are hoping to offer VLC members the opportunity to receive Continuing Education (CE) for the completion of the three training modules and case study exercises. Continuing education for this activity is pending.

The Virtual Learning Collaborative will begin December 2022 and go through May 2023.

If you are interested in joining this Virtual Learning Collaborative, please complete this recruitment form by Sunday, November 13 at 11:59 PM ET.

For any questions, please email Elana Filipos at [email protected].
