With local authority, public health preparedness budgets are being restricted which is leading to an increased urgency to demonstrate a return on investments in relation to public health preparedness interventions, as well as explore methods of decision-support for public health preparedness priority-setting. The Chair of NACCHO’s Preparedness Planning, Outcomes and Measures workgroup is conducting a survey to measure the impact of value-based decision making on public health preparedness. This survey is aimed at those involved in making hard choices about how to spend public health preparedness budgets and how to maximize the public health contribution of wider budgets. This survey is designed to produce results that will help public health professionals make better decisions on public health preparedness spending.

The survey will take no longer than 10 minutes to complete and will ask questions regarding use of economic tools such as cost-effectiveness analysis, cost-benefit analysis, return on investment, and “the business case,” in prioritizing how to spend public health preparedness budgets.
