The Preparedness Planning, Outcomes, and Measures (PPOM) workgroup held its monthly call on March 25. PPOM co-chairs Steve Englender and Steve Huleatt shared information from the monthly Preparedness Policy Advisory Group (PPAG) including updates on Hospital Preparedness Program budget cuts and preparedness findings in the NACCHO Profile of Local Health Departments. The group discussed major changes that had occurred in the policy statement on local health preparedness planning since the previous call, and members agreed on a finalized version, which will now be reviewed by PPAG. Members were reminded that the annual Preparedness Summit, which took place April 1-4 in Atlanta, was quickly approaching and encouraged them to share any items that they would like brought up at the in-person Preparedness Committee Meeting. The call closed with a brief discussion on the upcoming Advisory Group appointment process. The next PPOM call is scheduled for April 22 and will include a briefing on Project Public Health Ready.
