During the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a significant drop in routine immunizations for adults and children. While the numbers are recovering, they are not recovering evenly across all groups. It is crucial that we take steps to help get everyone on schedule with their routine immunizations. Local health departments are a vital part of these efforts.

NACCHO’s Immunization Team in partnership with the Immunization Workgroup has developed a messaging and communications toolkit for routine vaccinations. Convened monthly, NACCHO’s Immunization Workgroup provides expert opinion on immunization policy and practice to prevent illness and death from vaccine-preventable disease and emerging infectious diseases.
