STD clinics play a key role in HIV diagnosis, prevention, care, and treatment. In August 2020, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) awarded $3 million to seven jurisdictions to scale up HIV services in eight STD clinics. As demonstrated in the COVID-19 and the State of the STD Field reports by NCSD, the COVID-19 pandemic put unprecedented demands on all STD programs, but despite these challenges, awardees have made progress in scaling up HIV services.
