Webinar: COVID-19 Vaccine Breakthrough Cases

Apr 26, 2021 | Beth Hess

Nationwide, local health departments are working tirelessly to administer COVID-19 vaccinations in their communities, but postvaccination infections with SARS-CoV-2, or breakthrough cases, are appearing across the country. This webinar on Tuesday, May 4, 3:00-4:30 pm ET will cover vaccine breakthrough cases, including what we know about COVID illness after vaccination and case investigations and reporting. A presenter from the Chicago Department of Health will also discuss the findings highlighted in a recent MMWR: Postvaccination SARS-CoV-2 Infections Among Skilled Nursing Facility Residents and Staff Members — Chicago, Illinois, December 2020–March 2021.

NEW UPDATE: With the newly updated guidance for fully vaccinated people, NACCHO will be adding a 30-minute federal snapshot to the webinar on Tuesday, May 4. This webinar will now be from 3:00 to 4:30pm ET and include an update on the guidance from CDC and allow participants to ask questions. This webinar is limited to the first 1,000 registrants, so please register in advance.

This webinar is open to all members of local health departments as well as other community partners who are interested in this topic. Only registered participants will be able to join. Please register here.
