On March 24, 2021, the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine released their report, “STIs: Adopting a Sexual Health Paradigm.” The report reaches to all levels of US society and healthcare system to identify recommendations to improve the national approach to sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
On April 1, the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) released a statement on its drug policy priorities, which reflect a remarkable shift from the punitive approach of the past, by focusing on harm reduction and treatment and addressing social determinants of health such as racism, housing, and employment.
