The Public Health National Center for Innovations (PHNCI) is partnering with the de Beaumont Foundation to review and possibly revise the 10 Essential Public Health Services.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that it will hold a public meeting on October 21, 2019, to hear from a broad cross-section of stakeholders on a modern approach, called “A New Era of Smarter Food Safety,” that the agency is planning to take to strengthen its protection of the food supply.
To expand use of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), interventions to increase PrEP awareness, should encourage health care providers to discuss PrEP, destigmatize PrEP use, and promote racial/ethnic equity in PrEP access. PrEP is a daily oral pill that reduces the risk for sexual acquisition of HIV by about 99% when taken daily as prescribed.
