This past week, multiple racially motivated violent attacks took place across the country. These hate crimes include a gunman who killed 10 people and wounded three at a Tops supermarket in Buffalo, NY, a killer who targeted Taiwanese worshipers at a church in Laguna Woods, CA, and another shooter who targeted those at an Asian-run hair salon in Dallas, TX.
In alignment with this strategy, NACCHO partners with CDC to support local health departments (LHDs) in conducting activities within each of the Overdose Prevention Strategies' priorities.
As the voice of the nearly 3,000 local health departments (LHDs) across the country, the National Association of County and City Health Officials’ (NACCHO) portfolio consists of a breadth of projects in which racial health equity is an aim of program planning and implementation across public health domains.
NACCHO recognizes the Fairfax County Health Department’s (FCHD’s) Acute Communicable and Emerging Diseases (ACED) Program as its latest Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Champion.
Washington, DC, January 18, 2022 – The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), representing the nation’s nearly 3,000 local governmental health departments, is pleased to announce the release of the guidelines for the 2022 Samuel J. Crumbine Consumer Protection Award for Excellence in Food Protection at the Local Level.
In 2020, NACCHO, with the support of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), implemented the project, Supporting Local Health Departments to Increase Vaccine Uptake through COVID-19.
