A new analysis from the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) that finds that 1 in 2 newborn syphilis cases in the United States occurs due to gaps in testing and treatment during prenatal care
NACCHO has announced the fourth cohort of its Vector Control Collaborative Program (VCC), which strengthens local communities’ ability to detect and respond to disease threats spread by mosquitos and ticks.
As Congress continues to work on legislation related to the COVID-19 response, we encourage Congress to ensure sufficient national capacity for a robust contact tracing workforce that builds on existing state, territorial, local, tribal, and federal health agency disease investigation programs to quickly identify and isolate COVID-19 cases.
A novel workforce tool created by researchers at the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health (Milken Institute SPH) estimates that the nation will need a total of 184,000 COVID-19 contact tracers in order to help society safely reopen and limit the size of future waves of the virus.
