Research has shown that while adolescents and young people who use drugs are just as vulnerable to substance use-related harms, they are much less likely to utilize harm reduction services than older age groups.
In November, the HIV, STI, Viral Hepatitis, and Harm Reduction Workgroup (HSHW) met in person, with representatives from CDC to share LHD experiences in the HIV, STI, and Harm Reduction spaces, hear of CDC priorities, and strategize together on advancing program successes and addressing program challenges.
New data shows that the current MPOX outbreak is disproportionately affecting people living with HIV and those experiencing homelessness. This population meets eligibility requirements for assistance through HUD’s Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) and Homeless Assistance programs.
World AIDS Day is recognized annually on December 1 as a day to bring awareness to HIV/AIDS, destigmatize the diagnosis, and empower those living with HIV and AIDS.
Ryan White-funded jurisdictions are invited to join a small group of similarly motivated peers to participate in a virtual Learning Community to establish and foster Rapid Start strategy that draws on, coordinate, and enhances a broad range of linkage to care resources and giving health departments and providers tools to replicate them.
NACCHO hosted a webinar to share how LHDs can take advantage of flexibilities that have been made in federal funding to support a syndemic approach to HIV, STIs, COVID-19, and MPX (monkeypox).
